We pump septic tanks, dosing tanks and holding tanks. Septic tanks should be pumped every three to five years for maintenance. If you have a home that is newer it will also have a filter. This should be cleaned as well. Bacteria breaks down most of the solids but those that remain settle to the bottom of the tank. These solids take up space that could be holding waste. The typical family uses about 200 – 300 gallons per day so your tank will refill in about a week. After it is full any new waste that you put in the tank pushes the liquid already in the tank out into the field lines. Removing these solids also keeps them from going out into the field lines.
Pumping a septic tank requires that any dirt and grass on top of the tank be removed for access. To keep from damaging your landscape we can install a lid with a riser. The tank can then be pumped by just removing this cover without any digging.
Some septic system have pumps inside of a dosing tank. This pump is needed when the field lines are uphill or far away from the septic tank. We replace these pumps as well as the alarms and float switches that are needed to make them work properly. We also install sump pumps in basements or pumps for individuals on city sewer where the house is lower than the street where the city sewer is located.
We are licensed to install and repair alternative systems such as ATUs (alternative treatment units), drip lines and peat moss systems. We replace pumps, blowers, control panels and alarms.
We install and repair field lines. Waste goes out into the field lines where the ground absorbs the liquid waste. Field lines that are older or damaged can fail causing waste to back up into the house or come up in the yard. A family that uses too much water may also experience field line issues. We also have an alternative to field line repair. We use a machine called the Earthbuster to break up the soil around the field lines so that the soil will absorb the waste.
Most mortgage companies and new homeowners request that the septic system be inspected before the home is sold. Our company can provide those inspections. We want to inspect the system properly to find any problems that may not be evident with just pumping the tank.
We can unstop sewer lines leading to the septic tank or city sewer using a high-pressure water jet. We also repair and replace the line if needed. We repair and replace water lines from the meter to the house.
